It is sometimes referred to as \u003ci\u003eReunion in Hazzard\u003c\/i\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis film was dedicated \"In Loving Memory\" to those members of the series cast and crew who had died: Phil Mandelker, Sorrell Booke (spelled incorrectly as \"Sorrel\"), Paul Picard and Jim Mohlmann.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe concept for the reunion film came when the cast had gathered in 1994 for the funeral of Sorrell Booke, who had played Boss Hogg, and discussed a possible reunion. Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke) was instrumental in seeing the idea come to fruition. The unexpected popularity of \u003ci\u003eThe Dukes of Hazzard\u003c\/i\u003e reruns on The Nashville Network led to a rejuvenated interest in the franchise, which increased the feasibility of the reunion film. Series creator Gy Waldron had actually written a version of the reunion script as early as 1988, three years after the original series had ended.
